I am here in Knoxville for work and thought I would stop in and see what Petland was all about. We immediately fell in love with the sweetest German Shepherd puppy. I asked for the price, and it was over $5,000. I was completely floored at the price of course asked what was included and was given a list of what would be sent home. I offered to pay cash up front and if a discount was offered and immediately was told NO! I was also told I would not be able to get all the puppy guarantees such as hip coverage and health by paying cash out the door. My kids were falling in love with this puppy. I was told to apply for the credit and then pay it off in a couple months that the guarantee would stand for sure then. I considered. I applied. I have well credit and high income and was completely denied multiple times. I offered CASH again as my children were screaming to walk out with this particular puppy immediately the puppy was swept from my child's arms and vanished away from our eyes with an employee... I was screaming wait come back to no response and demanded out of the play area by another employee. This precious puppy was already so loved, and it didn't even get a chance due to in my opinion an overqualified family! My poor children are so upset. I can only imagine the heartbreak of that puppy that would've had an amazing loving home!

The animals are not taken care of properly. Customers were letting their kids pick up and drop hamsters, none of the employees noticed or said anything. We visited with a husky puppy that kept trying to chew on our hands when you try to pet it. The cages were also not very clean and the puppies had feces in their cages. The animals seemed stressed. Very disappointed
